Federico Paciotti (Rome, 1987), Tenor and guitar player, grows up surrounded by rock music, but always with eyes and heart open on to the classical world. He is an estimator of great voices such as Franco Corelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Mario Del Monaco, Andrea Bocelli, Ramon Vargas, Jonas Kaufmann and of legendary guitar players Jimi Hendrix and Steve Vai.
Since he was a child, his secret dream was to put two different music worlds together, where rock guitar sound and opera songs would merge into a unique project.
His career officially starts at the age of 14 with pop band Gazosa, winner in the "New Artist" category at Sanremo Music Festival in year 2001.
Following this experience, Federico signs up for the prestigious Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, where in May 2016 he gets a degree as Superior Tenor.
In the meantime, he plays one of the male roles in the colossal “La Divina Commedia Opera” composed by Marco Frisina, on stage in 2007-2008 in Rome, Milan and other towns selling more than 80.000 tickets. In the following years he performs in some more remarkable events: 2 concerts in Vatican City, in the St Peter's Church and St. Paul's, accompanied by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, then at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, always highly acclaimed by audience and critics.
When Caterina Caselli Sugar listens to Paciotti's new project, his very first idea based on the peculiar mash-up of rock guitar and opera voice, she decides to commit to it, with the collaboration of Italian composer and producer Celso Valli (Vasco Rossi, Andrea Bocelli, Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini among the many) and American composer and musician Simone Benyacar. The selection of Italian Opera masterpieces and original songs they record and produce includes an extraordinary duet between Federico and worldwide acclaimed tenor Ramon Vargas on "E Lucevan Le Stelle" ("Tosca", G. Puccini).
In 2015 Federico Paciotti opens the third evening of Sanremo Music Festival as special guest, playing and singing two of the most famous opera pieces by Puccini: "E Lucevan le Stelle" and a guitar instrumental version of "Nessun Dorma".
Then he takes part in the Italian night “Arena di Verona_lo spettacolo sta per iniziare” (Arena di Verona), presented by the Italian anchorman, Paolo Bonolis. In front of a 15.000 amazed audience Federico performs “Nessun dorma” by Giacomo Puccini, in a new version, enriched by the Chorus of Santa Cecilia Conservatory.
Then he plays a concert for Kathleen Kennedy's charity Foundation at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
From then on, Ms. Kennedy will express her enthusiastic appreciation for Paciotti's voice in more than one occasion.
While finishing the recording sessions of his first album, in 2016 more special events are on the run: in June he performs as guest of a special night in Assisi, singing and playing "Mater Misericordiae". The song, produced by Simone Benyacar, is a special version of the intermezzo of "Cavalleria Rusticana" by P. Mascagni. The lyric, on the theme of compassion and sympathy, adapts the lines of the prayers "Ave Maria" and "Salve Regina". The powerful fusion of opera voice and rock guitar is astonishing once again.
In July Federico Paciotti performs "Music For Mercy" at Roman site Fori Imperiali for a Unesco international event, part of the Catholic Jubelee year. On December 26, he's on stage again for "La Dolce Vita" at Rome Auditorium Parco Della Musica: Federico shares the concert night with Carly Paoli, Peppe Servillo,Tosca Donati,Raphael Gualazzi and Morga all accompanied by Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta (Ennio Morricone's fav) directed by Steven Mercurio.
On May 26th, 2017 Federico Paciotti's debut album "Rosso Opera" is released, including 8 songs selected among the favourite Italian Opera repertoire of Verdi, Puccini, Händel and more. The video from "Vesti La Giubba" (Pagliacci) is released accordingly.
A few weeks later he is again guest at "Con Il Cuore" live at Assisi, but in this case with M. Ramon Vargas, to sing together the duet "E Lucevan le Stelle" in the album.
On 24 June Federico Paciotti is at the 2017 Expo in Astana for "Red Opera", a concert at the Central Concert Hall "Kazakhstan", accompanied by the MITOrchestra conducted by M. Alfredo Santoloci, in front of an enthusiastic audience of 3400 people, an extraordinary success!
In December 2017 a special Christmas Concert in the ancient Abbey of Noci in Puglia, with the participation of the soprano Carly Paoli, who returns on February 15, 2018, inviting Federico as a special guest of his concert at Cadoghan Hall in London. with the accompaniment of a Symphony Orchestra directed by Steven Mercurio.
Meanwhile Federico Paciotti composed the official song of the Winter Paralympics 2018 in Pyongchang in Korea, which is presented live at the opening ceremony: HERE AS ONE is a pop song played by the world famous Korean soprano Sumi Jo, together with the Korean popstar Soyang, and speaks prophetically about the dream of seeing the two Koreas united in the name of peace.
From April 2018, Federico Paciotti holds a live program on Radio Rock, a consolidated radio station based in Rome with a strong reputation and a historic brand: during 10 episodes and hosting some remarkable fellow artists, he plays live his special blend of Rock and Opera, making clear how the two genres share a common ground.
On 18 May 2018 "ROSSO OPERA" is also released in CD format.
The album wins the award as “Best Young Artist” at the 23rd edition of “Premio Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito 2018”, dedicated to contemporary culture in poetry, music, cinema and theatre and celebrated with a live Gala night in Sorrento on October 27, 2018.
On New Year’s Eve 2019, Paciotti plays his concert in Genova, in front of 30.000 people in a fully packed Piazza de Ferrari, as highlight of a huge experimental project designed by contemporary artist and Master of Light Marco Nereo Rotelli.
On April 2019 Federico is touring with superstar Soprano Sumi Jo (Grammy Awards Winner) across South Korea touching the most important cities of the country where he sang Opera Arias and some of the most important napolitan romances (Nessun Dorma, Cavalleria Rusticana, O sole Mio etc.)
On February 18th 2020 Federico is invited to sing at a great event organized in Verona by Synapsy Event, will be on stage with Kerry Ellis and other artists. The event's orchestra is conducted by Maestro Diego Basso
